Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therpay

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy TM derives it's meaning from the root word “Ashi” meaning "foot" and "Atsu" meaning "pressure." This unique massage practice that uses hands and feet to give a massage that is both deep and very relaxing .
The deep compression effleurage technique uses Parallel bars that hang from the ceiling for balance and leverage while the massage therapist uses her feet to massage clients body. Recognized by the American Medical Association for treatment of chronic lower back and neck pain, Ashiatsu is growing in popularity by clients and therapists alike.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage

Pregnancy is a time in which a woman’s body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical, mental, and emotional  changes. Using various techniques specifically for the new mother, Pregnancy Massage helps alleviate discomforts experienced throughout the pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the reduction of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation, and relief from uncomfortable digestive issues.

Massage therapy is not only good before childbirth, but also afterwards and if there was ever a time you deserve a massage it's now. Postpartum massage focuses on helping to restore the woman's body and soul after carrying and delivering a child. Massage therapy plays an important part in the restoration of the abdominal muscle wall and the uterus to its normal state. It helps to realign the body weight to its original distribution, and tones the over-stretched areas of skin over the belly. As with all massages, it relieves muscle tension and stress from everyday activities, especially new mothering duties.
We are happy to serve you in our wellness center or for your convenience come to you for a relaxed non rushed massage in your home. Especially if your breast feeding and don't want to be too far away from your new child.

Additional $20 an hour for in home massage (only available for postpartum massage)

What people are saying about massage from Earth Mama

"Angela has been an amazing LMT as well as source of support during my pregnancy.  She is very knowledgeable and intuitive in her approach to the aches and tensions of the pregnant body.  I've had many prenatal massages elsewhere, but none provide the level of expertise and bodywork as Angela does.  As a student midwife she advocated for my wellness by checking in on my progress during our visits, and offering great advice and referrals.  I've had my baby boy since, and will continue to see Angela as part of my health maintenance. I look forward to each visit and highly recommend her to anybody in need of high quality, affordable massage from a wonderfully compassionate individual."

"I have been seeing Angela on a monthly basis for a few years now and it is the highlight of every month.  She is a true professional and I leave feeling great every single time.  Angela's attention to detail on specific areas that need special treatment after our initial check in is always greatly appreciated and she has really helped me with getting my muscles back into shape after years of inactivity.  Angela's kind energy always puts me at ease and is quite comforting.  I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a LMT of their own (as long as they don't want my time slot ;-)"

I have worked with many bodyworkers and massage therapists in Portland and Seattle for the last 30 years. My experience with Angela Beach has been and continues to be some of the most enjoyable visits I have had with anyone. Blending sensitivity  and practicality by utilizing the force of gravity, she is able to work as deep as desired by the client. I strongly encourage anyone to treat themselves to her marvelous expertise, and gift certificates go a long way as an appreciative expression to colleagues and loved ones.

Angela Beach, LMT and Doula

Licensed massage therapist and doula, I completed my initial massage training down in Southern California, but have since traveled to Thailand and have taken many classes here in the west to expand my skills and knowledge of massage. I am certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and a member and insured through ABMT (American Board of Massage Therapist).

As a massage therapist I bring to the table  a wide variety of techniques so each session is uniquely customizes specifically for you.  I am skilled in a very deep and therapeutic massage called Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, where I use my feet as well as hands. I am able to get beyond the superficial muscles and help bring lasting relief to your muscles and body.

I have also found myself being drawn to working with the pregnant community. I saw the amazing  benefits of massage throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum and soon found  myself attending births as a doula.  I use my skills as a massage therapist to help make pregnancy, labor, and postpartum as manageable as possible. I love supporting women and families through this amazing rite of passage and my heart goes into bringing education and support to those who need it. I am currently continuing my education at Birthingway College of Midwifery to become a homebirth Midwife and am currently working with Adeline Kell Naturopath and Midwife and with Ama Midwifery.  I look forwad to helping you along your journey!
