The infant insert is recommended in order to use our Standard size Tula baby carrier from newborn up to until your baby can sit independently with knees dangling down freely in an ergonomic spread squat position and is a minimum of 15lbs.
Does Tula free Need infant insert?
An Infant Insert is not needed with the Tula Free-to-Grow Carrier or the Tula Explore Carrier. The Tula Toddler Carrier cannot be used with an Infant Insert or any baby below 25 pounds.
Can you use ERGO Infant Insert in Tula?
Can you use the Tula infant insert in an Ergo (or the Ergo insert in a Tula)? Again, the answer is no. The infant inserts are made specifically for the different carrier brands: the infant insert by Ergo is made to make an infant fit in an Ergo, and the Tula insert is made to make an infant fit in a Tula.
How do I wash my Tula infant insert?
Baby Tula Infant Insert
We encourage regular maintenance of the Infant Insert by using a soft cloth, soap and warm water. We recommend only washing when necessary, in cold, on the delicate cycle, with mild detergent and then air drying. (Do not machine wash too often).

How long use Ergo infant insert?
Ergobaby recommends that the infant insert should be used until a baby weighs at least 12 pounds AND is at least 4 months old. We were able to stop padding Ergobaby when our baby was a little over 2 months.
What age can you use a Tula?
Tula says that the Standard Carrier can be used from 15-45 lbs (under 15 lbs should use an infant insert). Tula does not give an upper height or age limit for the Standard carrier. The guidelines for the Toddler Carrier suggest that babies be a minimum of 18 months old, 32 inches long, and weight at least 25 lbs.
